To kick off the contest, GIGABYTE’s in-house OC team set a new 3DMark Vantage world record with an overall score of 16877 and an incredible GPU score of 15297 with a blazing fast GPU clock of 1100 MHz and memory clock of 1400 MHz. It was then up to the contestants to see if they had the nerve and skill to beat the GIGABYTE record. There were 6 contestants in round one who were able to get their GPU clock over 1100 MHz. GIGABYTE, unul din principalii producători de plăci de bază şi plăci video, lansează cel mai nou produs din seria Super Overclock. Bazată pe un GPU NVIDIA GTX 275, GIGABYTE GV-N275SO-18I este dotată cu o memorie uimitoare de 1792 MB GDDR3 și o interfață de memorie pe 448-bit. Fiecare GPU este ales manual pentru a avea performanțe de top, pentru a fi eficient și fiabil, folosind procesul inovativ de sortare GIGABYTE GPU Gauntlet. Cantitatea de memorie a fost dublată comparativ cu o placă video standard GTX 275 de pe piață. Folosirea unei selecții tehnice avansate împreună cu plăcile video Ultra Durable permite utilizatorilor să se bucure de performanțe excelente ale plăcilor video în toate jocurile 3D de top.

Mai întâi sistemul de analiză a bazelor de date de la GIGABYTE evaluează motorul nucleului GPU, motorul de shader și memoria. Dacă un procesor grafic nu îndeplinește standardele predefinite, nu se califică pentru seria Super Overclock.

În plus, setul proprietar de teste de la GIGABYTE permite inginerilor să inspecteze și să selecteze GPU-urile cu cea mai mare frecvență. Acest program lucrează 30 de minute și oferă date importante despre abilitatea maximă de overclocking comparativ cu un GPU standard. Când se determină punctul de Super Overclock, inginerii vor crește frecvența pentru a oferi cea mai mare setare de clock factory default de pe piață.

Apoi, fiecare GPU din seria Super Overclock e supus testelor grafice FurMark și 3DMark Vantage, pentru a măsura performanța și stabilitatea în condiții de încărcare grafică intensă. Un GPU ce trece de acest stadiu va funcționa la temperaturi mai scăzute și la viteze mai mici ale ventilatorului comparativ cu un GPU standard. Prin alegerea ”cremei” din mulțime, GIGABYTE garantează un rendering de calitate al scenelor 3D complexe și efecte fizice realiste cum ar fi apa, gaz, abur, foc, etc., toate pentru a oferi o experiență de gaming apropiată de realitate.

La final, dar nu în ultimul rând, inginerii testează comutarea alimentării și stabilitatea. GPU-urile cu cea mai bună eficiență energetică și cel mai mic consum de energie se califică pentru seria Super Overclock. De asemenea GIGABYTE înțelege că o placă video premium nu ar trebui să facă zgomot precum un camion de ciment ce merge pe autostradă, de aceea se va folosi un ventilator mare pentru a oferi un mediu lipsit de zgomot.

Datorită celor 5 componente Ultra Durable VGA de calitate – PCB cu 2oz (57g) de cupru, memorii de la producatorii de top, condensatori solizi japonezi, bobine cu miez de ferită și MOSFETi low RDS on - seria Super Overclock permite performanțe de top în benchmark-urile grafice.
